Father Woody’s Haven of Hope will honor Rev. Michael J. Sheeran, S.J. , 23rd President of Regis University, with the 2013 Father Woody’s Humanitarian Award. This award will be presented to Rev. Sheeran during the third annual Haven of Hope fundraising dinner benefitting the underserved men, women and children in Metro Denver.

The dinner will be held Thursday, May 9th, 2013 from 6 to 10 p.m at the new History Colorado Center, located at 1200 Broadway in Denver. Join Master of ceremonies Denver’s Channel 7’s John Ferrugia for a wonderful celebration featuring catered cuisine, a silent and live auction and a night of inspiration. All proceeds from this event will go directly to providing services at Father Woody’s Haven of Hope, a day shelter for the indigent and homeless in Denver. Father Woody’s offers services such as; food, clothing, hygienic items, laundry services, haircuts, use of phone, mail and document safe keeping and many other services.

• Individual tickets are $150.00; a table of 10 is $1,500.

We are happy to announce our guest speaker for the evening, Father Greg Boyle S.J., Author of “Tattoos on the Heart.”

Father Boyle launched Homeboy Bakery in Los Angeles, CA as part of his attempt to help rival gang members work side by side to end their dispute. The success of the Bakery created the groundwork for additional businesses. Today Homeboy Industries’ include; Homeboy Bakery, Homeboy Silkscreen, Homeboy/Homegirl Merchadise and many more.

Father Woody’s Haven of Hope is certified as an Enterprise Zone project because of the services it provides to the homeless.
