Cool Colors Of Autumn Charity Car Show
The show is in its 10th year. It is the 5th year as a fund raiser for local charities with all donations going directly to the charity.
The show is Free for spectators. To enter and show a car, you can make a donation of an amount you choose.
The show is in a new location just across Highlands Ranch Parkway at the Kaiser Permanente building on the N/E corner of Lucent and Highlands Ranch Pkwy just one mile south of C-470.
It runs from 10AM to 2 PM with parking starting no earlier than 8AM.
This year the charity is "Rollin Dreams".
It was started back in March by a teenager named Austin Williams who was going through Cancer treatments.
Unfortunately he lost his battle with the disease later that month only 4 months after getting his dream car (A 72 Chevelle SS) which was given to him at the Creme De La Chrome show last Thanksgiving and was partially donated, repaired and painted by several groups of people.
Our club got involved with Austin and his family in early March when his parents got the bad news, and they wanted us to arrange an impromptu cruise and show for him that month as he had never had a chance to attend / drive in the car for a cruise or show.
We managed to get a group together of around 100 cars and did a small show for him at his high school here in Highlands Ranch and cruised through Castle Pines. We also made him and his parents honorary members of our club.
Sadly he passed away a couple of weeks later.
The charity provides activities and direction to mostly teenage children going through cancer treatment.
Most children's cancer charities tend to tailor their activities to young children and most older kids feel left out.
